Michael R. Collingwood has spent more than 40 years in the aerospace industry, specializing in the inspection of aerospace vehicles, structures, and advanced materials. Throughout his career, he has supported some of the industry’s most significant programs, including:

Before founding A-Scan Nondestructive Testing, Michael spent 16 years with McDonnell Douglas and Boeing as a Senior NDT Engineer. As the Engineering NDT Focal Point for Douglas Aircraft, he contributed to numerous aircraft programs, including:

Innovation in Non-Destructive Testing
Throughout his career, Michael has been committed to advancing the science and application of non-destructive testing.
One notable achievement was leading a team from Douglas Aircraft in the development of the CANDID Composite Inspection System for the Army’s Comanche Helicopter Program. This groundbreaking work incorporated advanced signal analysis and neural network technology to improve the inspection of composite structures.
His work in developing eddy current corrosion measurement techniques also resulted in two United States patents, further demonstrating his commitment to innovation and continuous improvement within the NDT field.
